When you think of lingerie, what comes to mind?
Often times, people think of lingerie as an object to define sexual desire, or of undergarments that represent romance and sex. Having been fully immersed into this beautifully unique industry, I can say that this stigma is but a miniscule fraction of what defines lingerie. In this article, take a glimpse at the many (but not all) facets of wearing marvelous, reputable lingerie.
Loving Your Body
It was not until I began working in the lingerie industry where I discovered the feeling of loving every inch of my body. I, like all women, was surrounded by unrealistic expectations of body images, pushing me further and further away from loving my perfectly imperfect shape. When I first experienced the feeling of stepping into a lingerie set that I felt connected to, it was like a breath of fresh air for not only me, but for my body as well.The moment you look in the mirror and say to yourself, “I feel beautiful,” is a moment that everyone is entitled to experience not just once in their lifetime, but everyday. This is the power that beautiful lingerie holds. It not only hugs you in all the perfect places, but it generates a new perspective of your own look, feel, and voice. It has the power to show you how beautifully unique you truly are.
Freedom of Expression
While many think that lingerie is only related to romance and sex, it has the ability to produce so much more about someone’s own individualism. It’s true: lingerie is considered an undergarment. But have you ever considered the notion of using your lingerie as a statement for your own style?
A recent surge in popularity in the lingerie industry has been the ways in which individuals use lingerie to express their fashion sense and unique style. It isn’t something that needs to stay hidden under your clothes, it’s something you can use to portray who you really are. Whether that looks like wearing your sports bra as a top under a track jacket, your bodysuit as a shirt paired with a blazer, or you just want to give the world a little glimpse of your high apex bra, there are endless possibilities for lingerie to make a statement about you. I have found that wearing gorgeous lingerie has inspired me to take my style to a new level that I never thought imaginable for myself.
If you have ever shopped for new lingerie and thought to yourself, “why would I spend $100 on a bra when I can get a $15 bra at Target?” then your outlook reflects how mine was before experiencing true liberation through lingerie.
What is under your clothes is so much more than that. It becomes the fuel to how you see yourself, and how the world will see you. It inspires not only a positive self-image, but a confident, comfortable, and happier life around you. When you feel comforted and cared for, it’s hard to feel anything but joy and gratitude.
